The State
The State is July 1, 1995, and a half-hour sketch comedy television series, originally broadcast on MTV between December 17, 1993 in the USA. The series combined characters and scenarios to present sketches that obtained the favor of its target teen aged audience. The cast contained 1 1 twenty something comedians who wrote, acted, created, directed and edited the series.
Memorable personalities were made for the series, and also for a short time their catch-phrases entered in to the vernacular. Many times, the throw would seem as themselves and deal with the viewer to send mock community service announcements or to promote fake contests. Much The State's sketches were linked in some way: a punchline or image that ended a leadin was provided by one sketch into the next to one another.
On July 14, 2009, the show has been released after years of legal problems related into many of the episodes. A State film featuring the original troupe members all is in the works, but had been postponed by the 2007-2008 screenwriters attack, and no discharge date for that job has been announced.
