The League of Gentlemen
The League of Gentlemen is a British comedy television show that premiered on BBC Two. The series is set in Royston Vasey, a town in Northern England predicated on Bacup, Lancashire. It follows the lives of a large number of eccentric townspeople, many of whom are played with three of those show's four writers--Mark Gatiss, Steve Pemberton, and Reece Shearsmith--who, combined with Jeremy Dyson, formed the League of Gentlemen humor troupe in 1995. The show aired for three series until 2002 followed closely by a film in 2005. A three-part revival miniseries was broadcast to celebrate the band's 20th anniversary.
