The Joy of Painting
The Joy of Painting was an American television show hosted by painter Bob Ross that taught viewers skills for landscape oil painting. Although Ross could create a painting in half an hour, the purpose of the show was not to teach viewers how to "fast paint." Rather, he meant for viewers to master specific techniques in the allowed time for the show. The show debuted on January 11, 1983, and ended on May 17, 1994, one year before Ross' death.
