My Super Sweet 16
My Super Sweet 16 is a reality show on MTV that follows the lives of teenagers, mostly from the U.S., Canada, and the U.K., who have wealthy parents who throw big parties for them when they turn 16. Quinceaeras, Sweet 16s, and other birthday parties like My Super Sweet 21 and My Super Swag 18 are all examples of parties. On January 18, 2005, the first episode aired. "Sweet Sixteen," sung by Hilary Duff, is the theme song. The show has also talked about a few parties for famous people when they turned 18. The show has shown Bow Wow, Sean Kingston, Aly and AJ, Chris Brown, and Soulja Boy Tell Em's parties. There was also a UK version of the show, as well as a Spanish version called "Quiero mis quinces" or "Super Dulces 16" that was made by MTV. In 2008, Exiled, a spinoff from MTV, came out. On the show, some of the parents of the teens on My Super Sweet 16 send their "sweet sixteeners" to faraway countries to see if they can handle the harsh conditions. In 2009, MTV announced that My Super Psycho Sweet 16, a horror movie based on the idea of the show, would be the next one in the series. The movie aired on October 23, 2009, and starred Julianna Guill.
