Janus
Janus is a Australian play television set screened in 1994 and 1995 to the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. Two series were produced, with a total of 26 events.
Janus was a spin off series from the earlier abc tv offense series Phoenix.
Loosely based on the true story of Melbourne's Pettingill family and also the Walsh Street police shootings,'' Janus follows the bitterly-fought prosecutions of a notorious criminal family, the Hennesseys, from the viewpoints of the family, both the police and, specifically, the attorneys, prosecutors, barristers and judges associated with all facets of the narrative.
Four associates of those infamous Hennessey clan are acquitted of the shooting two young policemen in a bungled bank heist, After the show begins. The town of Melbourne is shocked since Steve and brothers Mal, together with friend Ken Hardy and brother-in-law Darren Mack, walk free.
The prosecutors, judges, magistrates and authorities --lots of modelled heavily on statistics --are determined to place together the Hennessey members behind bars when they can. But delays loopholes, corruption, and stretched funds combine to create the search to jail the group far from straightforward.
