Hamish Macbeth

BBC Scotland produced the comedy-drama series Hamish Macbeth, which debuted in 1995. It is loosely based on M. C. Beaton's mystery novel series. In the fictional town of Lochdubh on Scotland's west coast, Constable Hamish Macbeth is a local police officer. Robert Carlyle portrayed the title character. Between 1995 and1997, it aired for three seasons, the first two of which had six episodes each and the third with eight.
