The Second Mother

Val spends another 1-3 years working as a nanny to Fabinho at São Paulo after leaving her daughter Jessica to be increased by family members. She has stability but needs to live with the guilt of having Jessica herself. As the university entry tests approach of Fabinho, Jessica reappears in her life and seems to want to offer her mother a second chance. Jessica has not been increased for a slave along with Val's routine will be turned by her very existence on its own mind. On both powerful and subtle forces, her eye turns with humour and precision that maintain class structures in place and the childhood may just be the ones to shake it all up.
