The Reader

The story of Michael Berg, a German lawyer who, like a teen in the late 1950s, had an affair with an elderly woman, Hanna, who subsequently vanished only to resurface years after a portion of the defendants in a war crimes trial originating from her acts as a concentration camp guard late in the war. He realizes that Hanna is illiterate and could be concealing the fact.
