The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman
In February 1962, as the civil rights movement makes its way to Bayonne, Louisiana, a journalist from New York arrives to visit Jane Pittman, who has recently turned 110. She recounts her life to him, beginning with her earliest memories prior to the end of slavery. Between the tales of her life, the contemporary challenges of Blacks in Bayonne are depicted, encouraged on by Jimmy.
