Hoop Dreams
Every school day, African-American teen-agers William Gates and Arthur Agee traveling 90 minutes each way from inner city Chicago to St. Joseph High School in Westchester, Illinois, also a predominately white suburban school well-known for the excellence of its basketball schedule. Gates and Agee fantasy of NBA stardom, with the support of their families, they struggle with the physiological and social barriers that stand in their way. This acclaimed documentary was captured over the span of five decades.
