True Grit
Following the murder of her daddy by hired hand Tom Chaney farm girl Mattie Ross sets out to capture the killer. To help her, she dominates the very toughest U.S. Marshal she can find, a man with"true self indulgent," Reuben J."Rooster" Cogburn. Mattie insists on Cogburn, whose drinking, sloth, and reprobate personality do not fortify her faith. Against his wishes, she joins him in his dip into the Nations in hunt of Chaney. Texas Ranger LaBoeuf, who wants Chaney for their own purposes joins them. The improbable trio detect danger and adventure on the journey, and each has his or her"grit" analyzed.
